This training has been designed to highlight ‘Bullying in Autism’.  It provides key information on identifying risk factors of children with autism.  It also aims to increase understanding of bullying in autism, assist with recognising signs and provide effective preventative strategies.  

Expected Outcomes:
Parents and family members will have an increased awareness of
•    How to define and recognise bullying
•    Signs of bullying in autism 
•    Bullying issues for children with autism
•    Unusual acts of bullying experienced by children with autism
•    Responses to bullying in autism
•    Strategies to support children with autism who are at risk of bullying

Richard Crawte

Richard Crawte is a Specialist Teacher at Middletown Centre for Autism. He has previous experience as a Lead Teacher in an Autism Resource Base in England.  Richard has a particular interest in developing resources and teaching approaches for use with children and young people with autism.  He specialises in modifying the curriculum to meet the needs of the individual learner and enabling access to learning for students with autism.
