Autism Level Up, Dr Amy Laurent and her colleague Dr. JÂcqûelyn Fede have devised a programme called Level Up saying, engaging the autistic community, listening to its members, and learning from them guides all their work. It informs what is researched and how findings are interpreted. They felt that their work needed to be about meeting people where they were and encouraging them to take the next step to support autistic people. Their philosophy is that through education, accessible resources, practical strategies, and a commitment to consistently incorporate the experiences and perspectives of autistic people, support can be offered that will level up society when it comes to autism and neurodiversity. The primary goal is to support autistic individuals but aiming to spread real awareness and support others in moving from awareness to acceptance, acceptance to appreciation, appreciation to empowerment and from empowerment to activism, the more positive change we will see at those large institutional and societal levels that can greatly benefit the autistic community.

Interactive Webinar Sessions

As means of adding additional interaction to webinars, Middletown Centre for Autism will be offering a range of webinar watch sessions, with internationally renowned speakers. In a watch session, we will play a pre-recorded presentation and the speaker will be in attendance, as part of the session. Any questions you may have can be added to the Chat box. The speaker, then, can pause the video and answer the query or add additional explanation to the point being made, giving us all the opportunity to have advice and guidance clarified. So, you are essentially watching the session along with the presenter.

Webinar watch sessions seek to build new ways to bring people together with the ultimate aim of differentiating and exploring the topic further whilst promoting and engaging in meaningful conversation.
