A joint MCA and NCSE Programme
“This series of workshops have been designed with the recognition that teachers in established Special Classes for Autism would benefit from sustained support in their autism practice to ensure autistic students reach their full potential.
These fortnightly sessions with provide teachers with advanced learning across sensory processing, communication and emotional regulation. There will be practical tools for practice, as well as opportunities for reflective practice, implementation of learning and peer networking with other teachers in Special Classes for Autism from the local area. The final session will be practical, providing opportunities to develop resources based on the previous sessions’ learning.
Sessions will be delivered by MCA and NCSE trainers.
As this is advanced-level training, it is expected that delegate will have previously availed of MCA and/or NCSE autism Teacher Professional Learning (TPL).”

Majella Nugent
Majella’s training specialism is Relationship and Sexuality Education, Transitions and Special Education Needs. Majella has contributed to the development of the curriculum as a Professional Associate with CCEA for learners with MLD and co-ordinated specialist trainings including Transition to Higher Education (Ulster University and Trinity College Dublin), 16+ Education and Employment, and Sibling trainings. Majella is an Associate Lecturer on the Post Graduate Certificate with Mary Immaculate College Limerick.
