When children or young people with autism experience anxiety, it is often difficult for them to communicate how they are feeling.

Visual supports not only assist the pre verbal child or young person, but also assist the very articulate child or young person who cannot communicate easily when stressed. The visual supports enhance communication and ensure that the child or young person has a way of conveying anxiety.
