Teaching your child how to open certain containers or food items will not only help with their independence and fine motor skills but will alleviate the need for too many hands touching items that will essentially be going near their mouth. This short video demonstrates how you may assess these skills and decide on what is simply too hard for your child at this time and what is easier for them to become more independent with.
