The checklists shared yesterday will help you to develop an understanding of a child or young person’s individual sensory needs.

You will then be able to offer a range of appropriate activities to meet these needs.  Some children and young people need calming input, while others need activities which increase alertness.  Many will innately know what their bodies and brains need, and so can make choices from a range of options.  These sensory choice boards make the options visually clear, and of course you can add or remove activities, depending on what is available in your home or classroom.
