The current lockdown means that siblings are spending more time together, and in many cases this may be leading to understandable tensions and arguments.

While this can be stressful for the whole family, it can create an opportunity for children and young people with autism to develop skills in emotional regulation. The problem solving wheel provides a visual support to direct the individual to options when feeling angry or frustrated. This can then diffuse the argument and allows everyone time to calm. The problem solving wheel may not only be useful for the autistic child/young person; siblings could be encouraged to use it too!
