Public Appointment Opportunity to the Board of Middletown Centre for Autism (MCA) The Department of Education has launched a public appointments competition to appoint four Directors to the Board of the Middletown Centre for Autism (MCA).

Background
MCA is a joint North/South initiative with funding provided by the Departments of Education in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, to support the promotion of excellence in the education of autistic children and young people. The Directors role includes contributing to the development of the Board’s strategy, challenging and working for consensus in the decision-making processes of the Board, and contributing to the work associated with the Board’s functions. Remuneration for Directors is based on a daily rate of £160 and Directors may claim travel and subsistence expenses necessarily incurred while carrying out their MCA duties. The time commitment is approximately 1-2 days per month. No specific academic qualifications are required for the post. Your experience does not necessarily need to be associated directly with the education service but may be from other backgrounds including business or commercial life and/or voluntary service and involvement in the community.
