MCA were very interested to hear the backstory to these lovely resources after posting the first one.

An autistic 8 year old boy is the narrator of the videos and has an autistic sibling. Their mother is an autism and behaviour specialist. She noted that her children did not understand the changes and abstract concepts of Covid 19, so the family first developed the presentation working through the abstract concepts.

These videos are ‘made by kids for kids’ based on the premise that children love YouTube and that videos tend to be less effort that reading.

They can be found on the Daughters of Charity Disability Support Service YouTube Channel.

The most recent is explaining why are people wearing face masks and special clothes.

Thank you to this family for helping many others with this excellent information which is especially helpful as it is imbedded in real life experience.
