Space is always hard to find in schools, but you don’t have to have an allocated room for sensory activities.

These photos show how Omagh Integrated Primary School has used its corridors to provide opportunities for movement input and calm breathing.  Pupils can use sensory paths like this for movement breaks, to stay regulated when moving through busy corridors or as a break from the classroom when feeling overwhelmed.  The clear visual prompts remove the need for complex verbal instructions and supports the child in engaging independently in the activities.
