Showering is an excellent example of when a visual support can be very useful for many reasons.
It reminds the young person of all the steps in the task, promotes independence and allows them to shower in privacy without a parent calling out instructions! This visual support provides one example, but the symbols and words can be individualised to suit different preferences.
