On World Book Day, the Centre is delighted to share this resource developed by Monaghan Libraries.

They worked with Eleanor McStay-Fearon (Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in the Centre) to provide an extensive list of books about autism, ranging from factual text books to those which take a more light hearted approach to explain serious issues.  There are also suggestions for how sensory activities could be incorporated into some popular children’s books.

Monaghan Libraries offers a range of options to accommodate the needs of autistic people, including sensory spaces, sensory boxes and story sacks.  So if you are in the area, call in to one of the Monaghan Libraries to celebrate World Book Day, or explore this resource for literary inspiration!
