In this Masterclass, we’ll go over

  1. what neurodiversity is,
  2. why and how it can help you in your classroom, and
  3. what neurodiversity-friendly and neuro-affirming support looks like.

We’ll be talking about how this applies to a wide range of autistic people – from those with lower support needs to those with very high support needs – and how these principles might be applied differently depending on the individual person’s support needs and profile.

Holly E.a. Sutherland

Holly E.A. Sutherland is an AuDHD postdoctoral research associate at the University of Cambridge. Holly's PhD at the University of Edinburgh looked at autistic people’s social communication from the autistic perspective. In it, she investigated ways in which non-autistic people might misunderstand or struggle to interact with autistic people, and how we can improve this to better support autistic people with both higher and lower support needs.
